Crown Isle Granite Wainscot Sill Description

In masonry terms, wainscot sills are finishing pieces that provide a clean transition between any type of stone facing and other siding material. Crown Isle Granite Wainscot Sills are just one of the many types of finishing products we manufacture to complement both our stone veneer and full bed stone profiles. This finishing piece is an off white color with pepper flecks, and is 2" thick, with a cut top and bottom and a flamed front edge. Flaming is a finishing process that super-heats a cut stone face to produce a natural textured look. Standard wainscot sill sizes include 3", 4", 6" and 8″ bed depths, custom sizes are available upon request, including widths up to 24”.

Learn More About Crown Isle Granite Wainscot Sill

Wainscot sills are installed horizontally to transition between two different types of building materials. On home exteriors, they are most commonly used as a trim material, where they are designed to extend past the stone veneer to divert rainwater. But they can actually be applied anywhere to harmonize materials across an exterior elevation with strong horizontal lines. For example, linear wainscot sills can be applied to define the transition from wood planks to natural stone veneer on front elevation half walls.

Whenever masonry transitions are made between wood siding or stucco to stone, wainscot sills can be applied to keep everything looking tidy and finished. To augment this polished and sophisticated look, natural stone projects can benefit greatly from the strategic application of the various finishing pieces we manufacture. With custom cut ends, specific lengths and additional flaming options that can be requested. Unlike traditional wood trims, natural stone is a low maintenance finish that will never warp or require continual painting to prevent colour fading.
