Newcastle Cut Top Post Cap Description

Finishing natural stone renovation projects with specialized accessories such as post caps adds a professional touch that looks great and protects your investment for years to come. K2 Stone's Solid Stone Post Caps are made from a single piece of stone and typically overhang the post slightly to provide a drip edge for water to flow off, preventing it from permeating into the post structure and compromising its integrity. Post caps are available to complement many of our most popular stone profiles, including Newcastle sandstone. This material is quarried on Vancouver Island and has been sourced for architectural projects since the mid 1870s. The neutral earth tone colour palette is a great match for other construction materials such as concrete, wood and steel. Newcastle post caps feature a cut top, bottom and sides. Additional finishing options include flamed sides (a process that adds texture by applying heat to the stone), sealing or polishing. K2 Stone post caps are available in any size combination up to 24" x 24" and are a minimum of 2" thick.

Learn More About Newcastle Cut Top Post Cap

This finishing product may be used wherever posts are installed to support a roof or overhang. On front elevations this may be part of the architectural detail around a front door, a verandah or porch. At the back of the home, outdoor "rooms" may be sheltered by a pergola or similar roofing feature that is supported by columns. If stone veneer or thinstone is used as a base, posts can be capped with this product for added beauty and durability.

No matter where posts are used – around the front door, supporting a patio roof, or as punctuation points on a low retaining wall around a pool, garden or yard – finishing them cleanly with post caps will ensure your stone renovation project looks professional and your property stays looking great for years to come.
